New SAP Usage Monitor Tool

Applicon Solutions will next month release a new tool APM Usage Monitor - a sister product to the Authorization Process Manager. The idea for the product is based on reports and observations from our large network describing a growing concern and interest in a simple data problem - which transaction codes have been executed by the users in e.g. the production environment. The APM-UM is a solution to a number of problems related to the fact that we often do not know the whereabouts of our users.

To address these challenges APM-UM provides continuous monitoring of users' role usage in support of processed such as yearly access review, role redesign, removal of critical access rights, adjustment of users to their correct license category, and more. APM UM enables you to know the impact of changes before they are implemented, rather than relying on unproven assumptions and handling unforeseen consequences after changes are made.

  • Know business impact when removing critical access from a role or users
  • Identify non-used access to prevent users or roles from sanding up
  • Avoid that managers approve non used access when performing the yearly access review
  • Match productive users to the right license category based on system usage
  • Base your upcoming redesign of users and roles on facts and NOT feelings or analysis

If you have any question/comments or would like to sign up for a presentation and an online demo please do not hesitate to contact us on solutions@applicon.dk.

APM Usage Monitor and GRC

APM Usage Monitor tool helps driving down violations in roles assignments fast and can effectively clean up roles.
APM usage monitor can identify which transactions have been used by which users and in which roles the transactions belong to. This information is used for:

  • Removing unused roles from users which can remove a lot of violations.
  • Communicating the facts to the users. This can remove resistance against a GRC project, which in severe cases can make the project fail.
  • Determine in which roles a transaction should be included in.
  • Identifying processes that are used wrong or can be streamlined.

APM Usage Monitor delivers the information in ready use reports to take instantly advantage of the above mentioned benefits. APM Usage Monitor doesn't require a specific GRC tool, so it can be used before this investment.
