SAP Role Build phase – knowing that authorization errors will not be a bottleneck in the test phase you have the possibility of building SAP authorization roles with another mindset. If some data (transactions, field values, org-levels) are missing the build of the role can still be finished without the values and send for test. If some areas are critical roles can be build with minimum values and send for test in order to identify the precise settings in the role.

Set-up role testAuthorization Process Manager is used for administrating the test in general. Ensuring that all roles and tcodes are a part of the test performed. Authorization Process Manager will set-up the test users with the necessary access in order for the tester to use the Authorization Process Manager functionality during the test. You will also be able to import existing users to an Authorization Process Manager project. This way the roles already assigned to the users will be the starting point for the test – example could be an Integration test, UAT or Regression test. Authorization Process Manager will make SAP authorization more transparent with regards to test in general.

SAP Authorization TestAuthorization Process Manager will ensure that testers can deliver authorization errror reports within SAP, with all data needed and within seconds. After reporting the tester can update with starting point in the error and continue the test afterward. The tester can set a status on the individual tcodes. Dynpros will be counted during the test making it possible to validate the level of testing on tcode level. The security team does not need to support the test by the hour.

APM Issue correction – all relevant data will be available for APM issue analysis and correction. An audit trace will exist from tester or user reports the error, during APM issue analyse, APM issue management and until the final correction of the role is made in development. You will have an automatic administration of the status of APM issue coming in and being corrected. This way we always know the workload in near future.

Validation – test management or project management will be able to follow the progress of the test through different reports. This can be critical or use full information in order to make decisions regarding the test level, the focus in the test or if we are ready for go live. We will also know which testers are performing and for whom a call is needed for picking up the speed.

SAP Go live/production supportAuthorization Process Manager will support end-users reporting SAP authorization errors from the production environment. As in the test the SAP Authorization Team will receive the needed data in order to correct the error without having to contact end-users for extra information. Dealing with authorization errors crossing different time zones will ease the administration especially if the administration is centralized.Authorization Process Manager can be the differentiator if some users over time have been granted too much access or SAP_ALL. Authorization Process Manager will be able to identify the need access for these users without compromising security.
